Delta Airlines (DL)
Delta Airlines is located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Delta Airlines dates back to the year 1924. The aircraft manufacturer „Huff-Daland Aero Company“ founded the subsidiary „Huff Daland Dusters“ in Macon (Georgia), which used agricultural aircraft for pest control. In 1925 the headquarters were moved to Monroe (Louisiana) and in 1927 a branch was opened in Peru. This gave rise to „Peruvian Airways“ on September 4, 1928, which later became „Pan American-Grace Airways“. The company moved to its headquarters in Atlanta in 1941 and changed its name to „Delta Air Lines“ in 1945. Delta took over „Western Airlines“ in 1987. Shortly before the insolvency of „Pan American World Airways“ in 1991, the transatlantic route network and part of the fleet were acquired for 1.3 billion US dollars. On April 14, 2008, „Delta Air Lines“ and „Northwest Airlines“ merged.
